2021 is over…2022 nothing is different only better

Good morning world! I write this on the first Monday of 2022. I can’t tell you how excited I am for the year ahead. Big things are going to happen this year. I can feel it.

2021 was definitely in line for one of the hardest years of my life.

I started the year, 4 months into being a Dad. I remember having my review at work and telling the person who was giving me my review that I pray every day that the company is willing to appreciate what we have just overcome in 2020. That we could have the understanding of how truly incredible it was. We were a marketing company that liked to disguise itself as a tech company. Our primary customer was small businesses. 2020 was the absolute most crazy thing that could happen to a small business owner and we as a service provider to them changed our whole company and we were able to not only accomplish that but start the process towards recovering from the impact this made.

Anytime in life, you need to take a look at where you are, where you are going, and appreciate where you came from. That snapshot allows you to find some gratitude in the process. To not get too greedy, comfortable, or overthink what’s next.

We didn’t do that. Not even a little bit. We proceeded to aggressively change the organization even if it wasn’t for the better. It pushed people out, it impacted the service level we were providing for our clients who were already struggling from the previous year. It was absolute hell.

Even with this going on, I was able to overcome it. I was able to keep moving forward and create a place for our clients and customers that was special. That was something that would make you feel like you were a part of something special. But…I could see the writing on the wall.

I tried to convince my wife that we should sell our house and take the equity and save it.

I began to work to prepare for the worst to protect my family.

Fast forward, I was also pushed to make some difficult decisions.

I told my wife to find a new job and I began that process as well.

We did end up selling our house.

In the 4th quarter of 2021, I started a new business, began a new job, my wife decided to spend some time to focus on herself and it has been an incredible ride. Considering the challenge I could not have asked for it to go any better at all. It has been insane, hard work and at times some of the most stress I could deal with but we are here. We are fighting. We have big, special things happening in our lives and I am excited to share them with you all.
